PSY-566 Asmt - Clinical Assessment in Health Psychology1 semester credits This lab focuses on clinical assessment principles and techniques widely utilized by health psychologists. Emphases will include professional, ethical, and diversity issues faced by health psychologists performing psychological assessments in medical contexts, as well as guidelines for effective practice in these settings. Specific approaches to the assessment of several representative types of patients often seen by health psychologists will be considered. 1. Familiar with the major types of assessment measures used by health professionals in the clinical assessment of medical patients.
2. Familiar with the key clinical/psychological issues in medical patients.
3. Familiar with various select medical conditions and specific clinical assessment techniques for each of them.
