ELC-782 Dissertation Research: Design, Writing, and Final Oral Review4 semester credits This course supports students at all stages of dissertation work, from research design and data collection to analysis, writing, and preparing for the dissertation defense. Students receive guidance and feedback from their dissertation chair and/or committee to advance their research and writing, ensuring progress toward successful completion and defense. After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to independently progress through various stages of the dissertation, including research design and implementation, and writing.
- Collect and analyze data in alignment with the research question and dissertation methodology, integrating personalized guidance from the dissertation chair and commitee members.
- Develop and refine dissertation chapters (e.g., introduction, literature review, methodology, findings) toward completion.
- Prepare for the dissertation Final Oral Review by articulating research contributions, defending methodology, and addressing committee feedback.
- Demonstrate readiness for dissertation submission by successfully completing research, writing, and revisions.
