ELC-781 Dissertation Writing Workshop

4 semester credits


Students continue to refine their scholarly writing skills while developing and finalizing their Research Proposal, securing IRB approval, or progressing with data collection and analysis. Students work with their dissertation chair and committee on various stages of their dissertation research.
Pre-requisites: ELC-780 , ELC-794

Grading Default: Credit/No Credit Only
Note: This course may be repeated for credit.
Learning Outcome(s):  

By successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Refine scholarly writing skills while finalizing various sections of the Dissertation Proposal, including Research Question, Background, Literature Review, and Methods.
  • Progress toward IRB approval, data collection, and analysis.
  • Integrate developmental feedback from dissertation chair and committee to strengthen research design and scholarly writing, ensuring clarity, coherence, and scholarly rigor.
  • Set and achieve personal writing goals, making consistent progress toward dissertation completion.
