ELC-778 Quantitative Research Methods and Design4 semester credits Students explore quantitative research methods (i.e., experimental, quasi-experimental, and statistical analysis) and learn data collection and analysis techniques. Students design a research plan and write a draft of the Methods section of their dissertation Research Proposal. By succssfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and differentiate between quantitative research methods (i.e. experimental, quasi-experimental, and statistical analysis techniques).
- Evaluate the strengths and limitations of various quantitative research designs in addressing research problems.
- Apply data collection and analysis techniques to design a research plan aligned with a research question.
- Develop a draft of the Methods section for the dissertation Research Proposal, incorporating appropriate quantitative methodologies.
- Analyze the ethical considerations and reliability of data in quantitative research.
