HOD-812 Human Learning and Motivation4 semester credits Students examine environments that promote learning by looking at the roots of learning theory starting stimulus control and Thorndike’s research on instrumental learning. Malcolm Knowle’s work documenting learning resulting in the creation of andragogy combined with Bruner’s work on curriculum design are also reviewed. More recent theories of holistic learning, transformative learning and indigenous traditions of elder storytelling give students choices to focus their projects for the course. - Define at least one historical theories or area of research relevant to human learning and motivation and document this content in a portfolio.
- Find and review current research articles on a topic from learning.
- Document this critical analysis in a scholarly paper.
