This course presents an overview of current knowledge for working as a behavioral health care provider with children and adolescents with chronic and acute medical illnesses.

  1. Understand the development, trends, professional, and ethical issues related to the practice of Pediatric Health Psychology.
  2. Develop a knowledge of the research basis for the field of Pediatric Health Psychology.
  3. Describe common health conditions and interventions for working with those conditions encountered by Pediatric Health Psychologists.
  4. Show an awareness and ability to work with issues of culture and diversity encountered in Pediatric Health settings.
