ELC-734 Dissertation Writing: Self Directed Research and Writing4 semester credits This course is for students requiring additional time to complete their dissertation. The course is graded pass/fail (CR/NC), or can be given an Incomplete as per the university grade policy. This course can be repeated. The course can be registered for a total of 6 terms; the terms need not be consecutive. This course cannot be substituted for elective courses.
Students engage in self-directed learning, receiving ongoing guidance and feedback from their dissertation chair and/or committee to advance their research, writing, and progress toward dissertation completion. Delivery Method: Online Grading Default: Credit/No Credit Only Learning Outcome(s):
- Engage in self-directed learning, setting personalized goals and timelines to advance dissertation research and writing.
- Integrate feedback from dissertation chair and/or committee to refine research, writing, and analysis.
- Independently progress through various stages of the dissertation, from data collection to writing.
- Address challenges in dissertation research and writing through reflection, revision, and problem-solving.
- Make consistent progress toward successful dissertation completion by completing key research and writing milestones.
