PSY-771 Legal & Ethical Issues in Media Psychology4 semester credits This course involves a review of pertinent research literature from the study of media effects. Some sample topics include court cases and legal principles involving such issues as freedom of expression, protected and unprotected speech, libel, obscenity, privacy, commercial expression, copyright, intellectual property, and related issues. The course will assist participants in developing an understanding of psychological theories that pertain to culture, the law, and media.
