Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology, MA (pathway masters for PhD students)

Students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program will automatically earn a pathway master’s degree upon completion of the below requirements, which consist of the first two years of the model curriculum sequence.

Pathway Master’s Requirements

5cr from PSY-710D1 and D2 or PSY-710E and F
Theoretical Orientation Course
One 4cr theoretical orientation course, consistent with the Practicum Case Seminar series you select:
Practicum Case Seminar Tracks
4 credits (first two terms) of one of the following Practicum Case Seminar tracks:
- PSY-629A1 -A4 Practicum Case Seminar: Psychodynamic, 2 semester credits each
- PSY-629B1 -B4 Practicum Case Seminar: Cognitive/Behavioral, 2 semester credits each
- PSY-629C1 -C4 Practicum Case Seminar: Humanistic/Experiential Psychotherapy, 2 semester credits each
Clinical Practicum and IQE
9.5 credits minimum of clinical practicum (first 760 clock hours) are required, with a maximum of 15 credits possible at any one site. 6 credits of this requirement may be completed via PSY-630 Clinical Assessment Practicum:
Note:
*Requirements must be successfully completed (i.e., with passing grades) within the specified time period (e.g., first year of program) or the student will be placed on academic probation. Students on academic probation must create a term-by-term progress plan and will have progress monitored each term; dismissal will occur if planned progress is not made each term.
