PSY-765F Malingering and Deception2 semester credits This seminar will provide students with a framework for understanding the clinical, conceptual and ethical issues pertaining to evaluations of malingering. Students will be provided with a review of techniques used in evaluating malingering of both cognitive and functional psychological symptoms. - Discuss the clinical, psychometric, cultural, and ethical issues in the assessment of malingering.
- Examine and assess malingering of cognitive deficits.
- Examine and assess malingering of mental illness.
- Describe psychological report writing as it is relevant to the assessment of malingering and exaggeration.
