PSY-746 Psychoanalytic Theory/Therapy4 semester credits This course includes a consideration of the terminology, major figures, and theories of psychopathology and psychotherapy from psychoanalytic and neoanalytic orientations. - Discuss the development and main features of these psychoanalytic theories. A: Classical; B: Object Relations; C: Attachment Theory; and D: Relational Theories.
- Discuss the significance of each major psychoanalytic theory and how each theory has contributed to our contemporary understanding of personality and/or therapy.
- Employ in discussion and apply to clinical material the major terms in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
