CMFT-558 Clinical Treatment with Families

3 semester credits
This course introduces the learner to family therapy intervention skills.  As such, it integrates marriage and family theory into practical application for commonly presented issues in clinical practice.  Learners will develop and implement marriage and family therapy interventions and apply those interventions to specific marriage and family problems, anticipate client reactions, and conduct ongoing assessment of client progress.  Learners will be introduced to various stages of therap0y - beginning middle, and termination- including ways to get “unstuck” in therapy.  Learners will also be encouraged to look at family of origin issues that may arise during the course of therapy.
