CMHC-510 Career Development

3 semester credits
This course provides an understanding of career development theories and decision-making models, occupational educational information sources and systems conceptualization, assessment instruments and techniques relevant to career planning and decision-making. Career, lifestyle, and leisure counseling, guidance and education, career development program planning, resources, and effectiveness evaluation are also included.  Vocational testing and resources, and various technological tools specifically designed for career exploration are considered.  In addition, attention is given to how career development processes may differ for women, older persons, persons with disabilities, immigrants and other marginalized groups.
