PSY-731C Health Psychology Focus on Intervention with Chronic Medical Conditions2 semester credits Exploration of the current usefulness of a health psychology orientation in treating patients/clients who may be encountered in a variety of contexts with chronic medical conditions. Case examples are utilized as demonstrations of applications of health knowledge with psychological expertise. - Gain knowledge of psychological factors related to chronic medical conditions encountered by health psychologists.
- Understand cognitive behavioral interventions relevant for health psychologists treating patients with chronic medical conditions.
- Become knowledgeable of empirically supported alternative methods of delivery for cognitive behavioral therapy interventions to optimize participation for chronically ill patients.
